hospitality commons

You're in good company.

A community for the people who make hospitality happen.

Bringing Columbus hospitality people together around one table to share experiences, exchange perspectives, and build genuine connections.

Why we gather

We spend every shift making someone else feel welcome.

Guests, regulars, teammates, the new hire on their first shift. Hospitality people take care of everyone. We rarely get a seat at the table ourselves.

Hospitality Commons is that seat. A place to meet the people down the street and across town who understand the work, from restaurants and bars to hotels, cafés and catering. No pitches, no panels. Just a good meal and good company.

Who it's for

Every seat at the table.

Front of house, back of house, first job or fortieth year. If you work in Columbus hospitality, there's a place for you here.

There's no head of this table. Titles stay at the door.

The gathering

Once a month. One table.

Every gathering follows the same simple rhythm, hosted by a different Columbus hospitality spot.

First

We eat.

A family meal, the way the industry has always done it. Everyone sits down together before anyone talks shop.

Then

We talk shop.

Stories from the floor, the bar, the kitchen and the front desk. Whatever's on people's minds. Nobody presents, and everybody gets a turn.

Before you go

You leave in good company.

Maybe it's a new friendship, a different perspective, or simply a good conversation. There's no homework. Just good company.

What a seat means

Everyone tends the table.

A commons stays good because the people who use it take care of it. Here's all we ask.

Show up.

Come when you can, and come as you are.

Be present.

Phones down, guard down. Everyone here understands the work.

Pass it on.

Make room for someone else at the table.

Not a networking event. Not a class. Not a pitch. A community that stays with you long after the table is cleared.

The table's set.
The dot is you.

Hear it first

There's a seat for you.

Hospitality Commons is growing into a membership community. We're setting the table for our first gathering in Columbus, and we'll share how to become a founding member as it takes shape. Leave your email to hear about it first.
